Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, PA, Model 21 marine chronometer with 56 hour up/down indicator, 85 size,14J, key wind, chain fusee driven damascene nickel movement with spring detent escapement, giant uncut AMAC solid monometallic weighted chronometer balance, free sprung Elinvar class helical hairspring system and balance lock for hacking or shipping located next to winding hole, operated by allen wrench (included) The silvered 4 1/8" Arabic numeral dial is engraved "HAMILTON LANCASTER PA., U.S.A. N3460 1941" and has blacked steel hands, s#2E3460. The lot includes the original gimbaled inner dark red mahogany stained box with full brass banding, corners, handles and central tongue in groove seal with Hamilton tag, original key and setting instructions
CONDITION:
good running order (winds, sets and ticks), the movement is in very good condition with a few fine scratches and pin pricks. The dial is in very good condition with a little deterioration at contact point with bezel. A remarkable WWII US Naval chronometer in overall very good condition Ht 8"
